New 2018 Audi Q6 To Be Assembled In Belgium

Audi Q6 to be assembled in Belgium, says report

Production starts in 2018

According to a report issued by Belgian newspaper De Morgen, Audi has decided to assemble the first ever Audi Q6 at the factory in Brussels.

Audi provided a first glimpse of its all-electric Q6 last month at IAA in Frankfurt with the e-tron quattro concept which will receive a production version in 2018.

While we know it’s easy to get wound up about concepts, trust us on this one – a Q6, and electric Audi SUVs are definitely coming. And while they (yes, we reckon eventually there’ll be several sizes to suit your brood and budget) won’t have quite as many chrome details or 4K screens as this concept, they’re likely to do all that Audi’s traditionally do well (look good, be great to live with, have smart and intuitive tech content) while doing the zero emission thing too. So if you’re keen on the idea of family space, a high ride and planet-hugging, emission-free lack of guilt, should you wait for this or sign for the Tesla?

We remind you the concept showed in Frankfurt had an electric range of more than 500 km (311 miles) and was powered by a trio of electric motors generating 503 PS (370 kW) and more than 800 Nm (with overboost). The electric power was enough for a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in 4.6 seconds and an electronically-governed 130 mph (210 km/h) top speed.

Taking into account it will go on sale at the beginning of 2018, expect to see the production-ready Audi Q6 before the end of 2017.
